Single Verses Imbued With Great Importance

The following verses convey important information. It is quite something that God deems it sufficient to inform us with a single verse concerning matters of a great level of importance.

The foundation for the calendar that God instituted for his human creation resides in one verse.

Gen 1:14    And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signsH226(signals), and for seasonsH4150 (an appointment- Holy Days or fixed time),, and for days, and years

"The rest of the dead" is a parenthetical phrase and this resurrection of the dead amounts to billions and billions of people.

Rev 20:5    (But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished).  This is the first resurrection

Untold numbers of people cannot accept the plain words that Adam and Eve were made "subject to vanity".

Rom 8:20    For the creatureG2937(original formation) was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hopeG1680 (earnest expectation),

How is it that Paul could entertain such a thought?

1Co 9:27    But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castawayG96 (by implication worthless).

It seems that so many "Christians" disagree with these easy to understand words by thinking the law has been "done away".

Mat 5:17    Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

The previous  verse had to be included to know who "them" is.

Mat 7:22    Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23    And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The idea of "once saved always saved" is false.  It is the Spirit of God residing in us that would qualify us for eternal life.

1Th 5:19    Quench not the Spirit.

The majority of the New Testament is devoted to the formation of the "first fruits".  The marriage is the beginning of the awesome responsibility that the first fruit, as wife of Jesus, will be given.

Rev 19:7    Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath - made herself readyG2090 G1438 (herself been prepared).

The "new Jerusalem", that will be established at the beginning of the millennium, will have a name that fully describes the principle blessing of that city.

Eze 48:35    It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.

If there is any doubt of the value of God's Holy Days this verse should answer those doubts.

Zec 14:18    And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles

After one thousand years of the benefits that result from God's rule there will be those that reject the control that resulted in those benefits.

Rev 20:9    And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them

It is apparent that the "spirits" of the ungodly will cease to exist when we understand the work of the "lake of fire".

1Pe 4:18    And if the righteous scarcelyG3433 (with difficulty) be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

How aware are we that Satan and his demons are guiding worldwide events?

Eph 6:12    For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I had previously mentioned that volumes could be written relating to the change from a world dominated by the devastating influence of Satan to a world ruled by God.

Rev 11:15    And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Two verses are required to provide the full import of this truth.  Without this knowledge it would be impossible to make sense of the Word of God.

Isa 28:10    For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Isa 28:11    For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people

The original human formations were created such that there was a difference in their evaluation of the information that was provided by Satan.

1Ti 2:14    And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgressionG3847. (the breach of a ratified law --- speaking of accepting the forbidden fruit)

Why did Adam hearken to his wife?  Jewish scholars have provided a reason.  Also, I know first-hand of the difficulty of weeds, insects, unfertile ground and adverse weather conditions.

Gen 3:17    And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Our thoughts are the sum total of who we are (Prov. 23:7).  Our "spirit" contains our cumulative thoughts.  Today, we are wholly dependent on the non-physical (thoughts), based on truth, to have a relationship with God.

Joh 4:24  God is a "Spirit": and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth

A relationship with God is not based on a physical manifestation.  A person who directs their thoughts to a physical object to communicate with God lacks understanding.  Their thoughts go no farther than to the object itself.

Joh 20:29    Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast

believedG4100 (to have faith) blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believedG4100

Ecclesiastes 12:7, the context being mankind, seems to answer this question.  Therefore, the inference is that our pets have no spiritual life after their death.

Ecc 3:21    Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

The awesome greatness of the Father and the Son make it possible for them to have a personal interest in each of us. This is a major part of their "work".  It should be added that Jeremiah 32:17  states that there is nothing too hard for "our Lord".

Joh 5:17    But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

This verse is an extreme example of how important a single verse can be.  Paul had been observing the ordinance of the Passover all of his life.  He did not call the partaking of the bread and the wine a "Passover".   It represented a "New Testament".  He called it the "Lords supper".

1Co 11:20    When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.

Bible Hub states; "Pilate WAS POSSESSED OF ENERGY AND ENTERPRISE. He would hardly have reached the station he occupied, or held it as long as he did, if he had not had these two qualities in his character".   This Roman prefect of Palestine understood the fact that "truth" was subjective in nature for himself and the many through-out time.

Joh 18:38    Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

Would this also be true as the millennium progressed?  This is not a single verse but this statement is repeated in Matthew and John.

Mar 14:7    For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

This seems to support idea that there are those destined to utterly perish spoken of in 2 Peter 2:12.

Psa 58:3    The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

There will be many that think they are in the good graces of Jesus, as Mat 7:22 states, but find out they aren’t.  We may ask if they kept the commandments?  Mat.19:17 says:  "if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments", and it goes without saying, it does mean all of them

Mat 7:23    And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
